The keyholes were most often just for looks. The back plates and handles are Solid brass excellent condition. If you paint the spot behind holes, it will look like there is a keyhole there, sometimes was drilled slightly to give hole recessed but can tell by their shape, they were most likely for looks, also see because of placement from edge door.
These didn't have screws so I put in it, if they are too long or short, common fine threads and not hard to find at any hardware store. Very nice pair of matching numbers on these.
